Leather Care
Keeping your new collar or harness well cared for will greatly extend its life and help keep it looking great. It is recommended to apply leather conditioner to the new product and after that, clean and condition the leather as often as is needed to keep it clean, soft and supple. To clean, apply to a damp, soft sponge just enough liquid glycerin soap to make the sponge slightly sudsy. Scrub the collar or lead thoroughly and use a dry sponge to wipe excess soap suds from the leather. Allow wet or damp leather to air-dry naturally away from any heat source. Harnesses, leashes and collars should be laid flat or hung. Never place your leather products in direct sunlight or on or very near a heat vent or fan. Allow it to dry thoroughly. Once it is completely dry, wipe it clean by rubbing with a soft cloth.
After cleaning apply small amount of leather conditioner. Pour a bit into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and massage the conditioner into the leather. Use only the amount of conditioner that the leather will absorb and wipe the excess off with a soft cloth. Let it dry for 24 hours, then buff with a soft dry cloth. Remember, leather is a natural material and should never be stored in plastic because it encourages the growth of mildew and bacteria and will ruin the leather. Always store leather in a cool, dry place away from heat when not in use.

Choosing the Right Size

To choose the most accurate size and avoid additional shipping costs for exchanges, please follow the instructions on each product's page regarding the method for taking the correct measurements. Do not relay just on the weight or breed of your dog. Also don't take as a measurement guide any previous items your dog used to wear or measurements from other stores you have made purchases from as each store has its own guidelines for measurements. You need to take the actual measurements of your dog and compare with the listed data to make sure you buying the correct size item.
If your measurements fall in between two sizes of the item you wish to purchase and you don't know which one to choose, the following considerations will help you decide which size will work best for your dog:

  • Age ( if you choosing a collar, a harness or a dog suit for a dog who is younger then one and half years old, chances are he or she will gain some size dimensions in the neck and chest circumference)
  • The type of coat (for thick or longer coated dogs you need to provide extra room for their fur to assure a comfortable fit of your dog's new collar, harness or dog suit)
  • The purpose of the item (a tighter fitting collar, harness or muzzle will assure a secure fit of the item for training dogs and working with them, a looser fit is appropriate for using the item around the house or extended wear)
Finding the Right Size
What if is the size you need is not listed?
